Thanks to all participants in the 2013 Milwaukee MakerFest. It was a great success!
See you again in 2014!
Milwaukee Maker Fest celebrates people who make and the curiosity and creativity that drives them.
Part science fair, part county fair, and part something entirely new, Milwaukee MakerFest is an all-ages gathering of tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, artists, students, and commercial exhibitors. All of these “makers” come to Milwaukee MakerFest to show what they have made and to share what they have learned.
Inspired by Maker Faires, Milwaukee MakeFest is primarily designed to be forward-looking, showcasing makers who are exploring new forms and new technologies. But it’s not just for the novel in technical fields; Milwaukee MakerFest features innovation and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft.
This event took place on October 19th, 2013 at the Milwaukee Makerspace. Established in 2010, we have grown from a dozen people meeting in a member’s garage, to over 100 members creating hundreds of projects in a 16,000 square foot building in the heart of Bay View. We are proud of our success and want to show off our new location to the rest of the city and region. Our space contains tools to work with metal, wood, electronics, plastics, fabrics and more. Our members have diverse backgrounds including engineering, software, crafting, machining, welding, forging, and woodworking. We are very excited to interact with other Makers and Enthusiasts at the first Milwaukee MakerFest!
